COMPANY HISTORY
Humble Beginnings
Before the founding of Great Lakes MFG, Craig French and his father Paul were in the debarking industry. The debarked wood was hauled to the mill’s on nationally known name brand trailers, but the trailers were not holding up to the rigors of the wood hauling job at hand. Paul and Craig designed and built 3 pulp wood trailers in 1980. These trailers were up to the task, and soon were sought after from other log haulers, thus Great Lakes Manufacturing was born to fill the need for a better built trailer. For over 40 years, Great Lakes Manufacturing has been leading the way with innovative trailer designs for the logging, refuse, & material handling industries! We have also designed and patented various aluminum products. Craig French and his Wife Michelle have been at the helm since 1993 and continue to keep exceed their customers’ needs with trailers that are purpose built and Great Lakes Strong!
